Mr. Chumpol Silapa-archa, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports, met Mr. Lee Keqiang, Deputy Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China on the occasion of attending 2012 China (Ningxia) International Investment and Trade Fair & China Arab States Economic and Trade Forum in Yinchau city, Ningxia Autonomous Region, in order to cooperate in promoting the tourism, trade, investment, and relationship between Thailand-China.   

 
Mr. Chumpol Silapa-archa, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports, revealed that this time he had a chance to discuss with Mr. Lee Keqiang, Deputy Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China in order to build the relation between Thai and China in the better direction since the China market is very important to Thailand. In the previous year, it found that over 1.72 million Chinese tourists had the earning more than 58,000 million Baht and this growth trend will increase continuously. It reflects the good relationship of Thailand and China. As a result, it is important that the concerning private and public authorities have to cooperate with each other closely for the advantages of tourism industry promotion of both countries.
 
In addition, he also congratulated to China which won the first prize in Paralympics Games. China received 95 gold medals which represented the greatness of sport development. It is estimated that Thailand will be concretely promoted in the future in order to improve the sport by China.  
 
Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports, continued that he discussed about the tourism with Mr. Wang Jengwei, Governor of Ningxia Autonomous Region, the People's Republic of China, in order to consult about the relationship for establishing the guidelines of tourism promotion. Additionally, he invited Ningxia city to sign and become the sibling city with Suphanburi province in the future. Ningxia is announced and appointed to be the special development region since it has the important role to China. This city has advantages on agriculture and more resources than other areas. It is also the production base of any industries because the investment of lands and electricity is low. Nowadays there are more than 20 large production plants.

Noow Ningxia city is developing Halal food. It cooperates with 6 Arabian countries for promoting the Halal food industry. It is highly possible that Thailand will join the cooperation of Halal food in Thai style. In the meanwhile, Thailand has many tourist attractions. If they cooperate, there will be more tourists and investment between Thailand and Ningxia increasingly. In addition, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports also discussed with Mr. Chai Wu, Minister of Culture of the People's Republic of China about the cultural exchange between Thailand and China. On this occasion, he thanked to China for support the Chinese performances to show in Chinese New Year Festival every year in Thailand so the relationship between Thailand and China is stronger. Moreover, they discussed about the promotion of dispatching dancing art performers to perform the show in Chinese New Year Festival next year in Thailand as well.

 
In this visit to China of Mr. Chumpol Silapa-archa, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports, not only met the superior leaders of China to develop the cooperation of tourism and sport, but also attended the 1st Global Tourism Economy Forum, in Macau Special Administrative Region. Moreover, he had an appointment with Mr. Fernando Chui Sai on, the Chief Executive of Macau Special Administrative Region. He was appointed to be a representative of Miss Yingluck Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand, to visit Macau in this time.
 
Previously, Macau and Thailand has a cordial relationship. Macau tourists travel to Thailand approximately 50,000 persons per year, while, Thai tourists visit Macau approximately 196,000 persons per year. It is estimated that Chinese tourists will increase up to 2.2 million persons per year in the year. According to the continuous relationship, it helps welcoming Macau tourists increasingly and efficiently every year.
 
Other than Bangkok, Phuket is the tourist attractions received the popularity from Macau tourists as well. In next year, Phuket will be the host of Beach Games Competition. Since Phuket has the architecture similar to Macau in the style of Sino-Portuguese, which was the traditional Portuguese housing and building, this is also the tourist attraction very well. In the meantime, there was the discussion or signing to be the sibling city. Macau is pleased to support the direct airline between Macau-Phuket. The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Hong Kong will proceed this matter later.      
        
For this visit to the People's Republic of China and the Macau Special Administrative Region, it is a part of significant mission of Mr. Chumpol Silapa-archa, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Minister of Tourism and Sports, which is considered to be successful and progressive, leading to the tourism opportunity with China. This encourages Thai Government to achieve the target which establishes the tourism revenue in the amount of 2 trillion Baht in 2015.
